June 2011 CME as seen in COR1, COR2, HI-1, and HI-2

A spectacular coronal mass ejection and associated prominence eruption in June 2011 is seen as it progresses through the fields-of-view of the COR-2, HI-1 and HI-2 telescopes on STEREO Ahead. It's highly unusual for the prominence material to be so clearly seen in all three telescopes.

This running difference movie combines data from the COR-2 (blue), HI-1 and HI-2 telescopes (red) from the STEREO Ahead spacecraft to show a spectacular coronal mass ejection and associated prominence eruption in June 2011. It's highly unusual for the prominence material to be so clearly seen in all three telescopes. Earth is visible on the left-hand side of the movie.
