Streaming Plasma

image128

Streams of plasma slid over the edge of the Sun over a 36-hour period (June 27-28, 2010) as NASA's STEREO Behind spacecraft watched the action in extreme UV light. The plasma motions were controlled by magnetic fields in a solar "prominence," and likely continued but the rotation of the Sun carried the prominence out of our sight.
